Reflections on Reading the Feynman Learning Method: A Revolution in Learning Methods

Since the beginning of the school year, according to the needs of my research project, I have read the book “Feynman Learning Method” from shallow to deep.

At the beginning, I only read it for the purpose of my research project and did not want to be someone who only knew half of it.

Therefore, I did not have too much hope when I read it, and there was a feeling of coping. However, as I reached the third chapter, I became increasingly aware of the extraordinary significance of this book.

I feel from my heart that this book is a very practical teaching methodology work, and at the same time, it can guide children to work hard in the process of education and teaching, which will also improve their learning efficiency.

So this is a good book, a valuable book that can bring about a revolution in reading and learning, and a good book that guides children to learn and progress.

This book focuses on the importance of learning methods, with a particular emphasis on specific learning methods and the results achieved through their application in learning practice.

These contents are worthy of research and application. The beginning of this book mainly proposes a restrictive belief.

What is our belief. This is a question that many people think about. Some people believe in faith, and as long as I work hard, I will do a good job.

Some people believe in certain sects, and some people believe in the power that others give you. What is the restriction of faith.

For example, some people believe that you cannot do something alone, which can lead to feelings of inferiority and prevent you from focusing on it, making it difficult to do well; Without a belief, people will lose their strength, which I think is a very scary thing.

If you don’t believe in what you are doing when you are most important, you will only achieve nothing.

If you calm down and do even the worst grades, you will still achieve something. If restrictive beliefs affect your thinking, you won’t be able to do anything well, so as long as you believe in yourself, you can succeed.

Simply put, it is a psychological suggestion that lays the foundation for studying it. Through learning and research, I have come to understand that the Feynman learning method is not just a learning method, but also a way of thinking.

It encourages us to challenge ourselves, not satisfied with superficial understanding, but to delve deeper into the logic and principles behind every knowledge point.

Through this approach, we can truly grasp knowledge and quickly and accurately find solutions when encountering practical problems.

Here is my reflection based on the author’s viewpoint and my practical experience: Clarify the goal: not only for work needs, but also for reading.

Clarify the purpose of reading: entertainment, skill improvement, certification, enriching thoughts, etc.

What level and content need to be learned to achieve the goal. Gradually, there will be a general direction for finding and reading books.

For example, what is the purpose of my current study of this book. I am well aware of my weaknesses in learning: low efficiency, poor quality, and ineffective learning.

Therefore, I hope to improve my learning methods and efficiency through learning, which will be helpful for my future studies in both professional and non professional areas.

Extraction and absorption: The book contains many principles and learning methods, but not every method and principle I need to understand and be able to practice, so I only need to choose what suits my habits and matches my actual needs to learn.

The process of learning should not be idle, taking notes is the only way to know how well you are learning, which is very helpful for later recollection and consolidation; And sometimes after reading the next paragraph, I forget what was said in the previous paragraph, let alone the connection between them, because the text is fragmented, and it’s difficult for someone as stupid as me to understand it after reading it.

So after reading it, you can combine the author’s viewpoint with your own notes to create a mind map to help clarify logical relationships, which will make the entire visual system more cohesive.

Just like when we are learning a physics principle, we may still not understand it after reading a lengthy book.

If we look for a video online or see a relationship diagram drawn by a teacher, visualizing abstract concepts or principles will make it easier to understand.

Understanding output: It means trying to speak out the learned knowledge points by oneself after organizing the knowledge, and discovering the blind spots in thinking, including those that are not remembered or understood; After identifying and filling in the gaps, imagine yourself teaching this knowledge to someone who hasn’t learned it yet, and making them understand it immediately.

This is a bit more difficult than the previous step, requiring us to have a thorough understanding of the essence of the problem, but it will greatly increase the retention rate of the content – the content that can be kept in our minds and used for our own brains, and generally teaching what we have learned to others is the main way to achieve maximum content retention rate, because it requires you to have a systematic, comprehensive, and in-depth understanding of the knowledge.

During the learning process, I also attempted to apply the Feynman learning method in practice. For example, when reviewing a course, I no longer simply memorize the content from the textbook, but try to explain the concepts and principles in my own words.

This not only deepened my understanding of knowledge, but also exercised my logical thinking and expression skills.

Overall, the Feynman learning method has brought me many valuable insights. It made me realize that learning is not just a process of memorizing and understanding knowledge, but also a process of self growth and cognitive enhancement.

Through in-depth study and practice of the Feynman learning method, I believe that I will be able to handle my future learning and life with greater ease, becoming a truly deep and broad person.
